The Commission on Higher Education (CHED) and the Department of Education (DepEd) have released their endorsements of the University of the Philippines Manila Conference on Global Climate Change to be held on October 22-23, 2009 at the Pearl Garden Hotel, Manila.

Conference participants may download the endorsements from the Conference website, under the section "Endorsements."

The conference aims to inform and update the participants with the various issues relating to climate change and assess how the different sectors locally are coping with the threat. With the theme "The Science and Social Impact of Global Climate Change--A Philippine Setting," the Conference is also aligned with the United Nations Millenium Development Goal 7: Ensure Environmental Sustainability.

Besides the original target participants of college faculty members, the sub committee on registration of the Conference Committee has reported that registered participants included representatives from religious organizations, high schools, local government units and alumni organizations.
