Memo: CAS Faculty Conference 2010

For: All Department Chair
From: Dean Reynaldo Imperial

I am pleased to invite all full-time faculty members to this year's CAS Faculty Conference with the theme “Strength Through Convergence: Towards Relevant Research and Extension.”

As the theme indicates, this year's conference will focus on our non-teaching functions. Considering that the faculty members of the College are always loaded with teaching tasks, the University and our people demand more from us. In this light, we hope that the College can identify an approach in pursuing these two important academic functions, while considering our own capabilities and resources.

The faculty conference will have two parts. A pre-Conference program will be held from April 16 to 17 at the Little Theater, where all full-time faculty members are required to attend. They will be excused from their classes.

The Conference proper will be held a week after, April 29-30. The tentative venue is either Canyon Cove, Nasugbu, Batangas or Puerto Galera, Mindoro.

Please confirm your attendance using the attached survey for us to know how many kits and food sets to prepare. We will get the survey form on or before April 9, Friday.

We will send more information when we get all the details, which the ISPC will be meeting about on Wednesday. In the meantime, please feel free to course your inquiries and concerns regarding the conference to your department representative to the ISPC. Thank you very much.
