Short Course on Applied Health Research

The Manila Studies Program, in partnership with the Office of the Dean and the support of the Philippine Council for Health Research and Development, DOST, is holding another round its Short Course on Applied Health Research on August 19-21, 2009 at RH 313.

The course is free for one faculty member from each department in CAS, and one faculty member from each of the other Colleges in UP Manila. Please contact the Manila Studies Program (5225208 loc 108) or the Office of the Dean if you wish to participate in this course.

Course Objectives:
  • To sensitize the participants of the value of applied health research, its characteristics, strengths and transdisciplinary, gender /culture-sensitive and ethical research approaches;
  • To equip participants with knowledge and skills in using health social science, ethical, and gender/culture sensitive approaches in data collection and data analysis; and
  • To equip participants with the knowledge and skills in conducting baseline research, monitoring and evaluation and outcome research as applied in policymaking and program development;
